1. Sign in your Gmail
2. At the top right of your Inbox, click the Gear button, select "Themes".
A small windows will appears with many colorful pictures. You can choose any available themes, they are all FREE. The catalog has hundreds of beautiful high-resolution pictures. And if you want to know who takes the pictures, hover your mouse over the images and name of him will appear. Click "More Photos" to see more nice photos.
After selecting a theme, you can customize some details of the theme further by three small symbol next to "cancel" button. "Text background" allows you to change the text and widget in Gmail whether light or dark, "Vignette" helps you add the darker circle around your theme background and "Blur" allows you to add blur effect in your theme background. Every change will be previewed in your choosen theme.
You are also able to upload your own pictures by clicking the My photos button in bottom right. Using your available photos in "My Photos", uploading a new one from your computer or pasting a url... as you want. The choosen photo will appear after a few second, click "Select" and your new background will be set.
Don't forget to click "Save" or "Select" (the blue button) after choosing a photo/theme you like.
